Hired based on architectural knowledge and for future assumption of systems infrastructure. Tasked with leading the planning, design, implementation and testing of an entire Web, Interactive Voice Response and paper scanning infrastructure for deployment in seven weeks, an unarticulated need prior to hire. Challenged with being the sole technical person in charge of developing a brand-new infrastructure without any pre-existing systems in place.

Performed an evaluation to determine requirements and developed a high-level plan for presentation to the company President. Engaged an external consulting company upon approval of plan, communicating requirements and overseeing iterative design and implementation stages. Initiated contract and interface specification negotiations for an IVR system.

  • Drove deployment of Phase 1 customer-facing system in 7 weeks

  • Implemented a system supporting 200K patients with scalability to 5M.

Recruited to apply systems architecture experience for a major Wall Street investment bank project to implement an online trading, portfolio management, and news and research system for high-net-worth clients. Led multiple implementation teams for designing and developing the trading user interface for equities, options, fixed-income and mutual funds, and the back-end rules-based compliance engine for ensuring regulatory rules and client investment objectives. Interacted with client for design and planning while overseeing 16 developers throughout entire implementation cycle.

Directed and managed system development activities across multiple business units and led re-engineering efforts as the underlying Interactive Voice Response technology matured and feature requirements changed during development. Defined internal processes and development design decisions and coached junior development team members. Oversaw project budget, personnel staffing and hiring, and directly managed technical writing and systems administration staff.
