WASD Version 10.0.1
Version 10 brings a number of significant changes to the WASD installation and runtime environment.

Check significant changes carefully and in particular when updating ... Updating? Beware!

The three other packages, -AXP, -IA64 and -VAX, contain supplementary, pre-compiled object modules for this release.

Moving from OSU? Dick Munroe (munroe@csworks.com) has kindly provided a couple of Perl scripts that will assist with migration, convert-osu-to-wasd.pl and framework.pl, which may be found in the [EXAMPLE] directory.

Secure Sockets Layer
OpenSSL 0.9.8f (11 Oct 2007) release. Some mirror sites will not contain the SSL packages due to local export/import/patent restriction, or other reasons. If your mirror site does not appear to contain the SSL components please try the main WASD distribution site. Note that WASD builds and runs against the HP SSL product if you prefer (as of OpenVMS V8.3, SSL is always installed with the operating system). See http://wasd.vsm.com.au/wasd_root/doc/htd/htd_1800.html for possible options.

PHP Persistent Scripting
PHP is an almost universally deployed, powerful, cross-platform, HTML-embedded scripting language (http://www.php.net/). This is an Alpha (AXP) and Itanium (IA64) PHP interface for WASD. It uses the CSWS PHP v2.0 engine (released May 2009), which must be obtained separately. See the READMEs in http://wasd.vsm.com.au/wasd_root/src/php/ for further information. Jean-François Piéronne has put up a demonstration on his site http://pi-net.dyndns.org/.

Python Persistent Scripting
Python is a portable, interpreted, interactive, object-oriented programming language popular for both standalone and Web applications (http://www.python.org/). A persistent scripting RTE for WASD is now available for the Python for OpenVMS port by Jean-François Piéronne available from http://www.vmspython.org/ (also see the VMS Python Wiki at http://www.vmspython.org/ for general information and many demonstrations). This RTE is suitable for both Alpha (AXP) and Itanium (IA64) platforms. See http://wasd.vsm.com.au/wasd_root/src/python/ for further information.

DynDNSupd
Provides a native DynDNS DDNS update client for OpenVMS (http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/).  It requires the HP [Open]SSL product to be installed and started. DynDNSrpt is a complementary CGI Web server application that can be used as a basic reporting tool for the above application. No object code is provided under the assumption most enthusiast/hobbiest systems will have a C compiler available.

The basic HyperSPI available in the WASD package, plus additional report items, plus more sophisticated graphics. Should be suitable for WASD, OSU, CSWS (Apache), Purveyor. HyperSPI++ requires DECC 6.n and MMS/MMK to build. (Note: the VAX DECC 6.n currently bug-checks during compilation.) Author: Jean-François Piéronne (jf.pieronne@laposte.net).

MonDeSi
(Pronounced "mon-deh-sih") is a browser-based VMS system monitor suitable for VMS V7.3 and later. It should run as a CGI script under VMS Apache (SWS), OSU and WASD, and be usable from Mozilla, SeaMonkey, Netscape 6+, Firefox, Opera 7+, and MSIE 5+ browsers, probably others. This screenshot gives a bit of a feel of the application, or a live demonstration courtesy of  deathrow,  while the source code (http://wasd.vsm.com.au/wasd_root/src/mondesi/) can provide more detailed information. The kit contains Alpha (AXP) and Itanium (IA64) object modules.

NOTE about VAX: There is no VAX object kit for this release of soyMAIL although it continues to build under VAX VMS. soyMAIL v1.5 will be the last explicitly developed and supported for VAX.
NOTE for Apache sites: There appears to be a significant issue uploading request bodies larger than 64kB with SWS 2.1 that is currently under investigation by the HP Apache team. See the release notes.
FIXED 27th September 2006! This is reported to be fixed with SWS V2.1-1.
